For some reason, I can’t this old but very funky song out of my head: The Mary Jane Girls singing In My House, an old Rick James jam.
Music theory bugs might recognize the brilliant use of the Lydian scale in the hook (the part that goes “so when you need a little piece of mind, come on over boy anytime, etc…”).
Anyway, from my head to yours…

I think its Me – La in the Dorian mode which would sound Lydian since its 4 whole tones. But the harmony is Eb minor throughout the song … I think.
Well, it sure is funky either way!
