More on Storms and Jobs

Just pursuing the UI claims in advance of the jobs report tomorrow and noted the storm related spikes of Katrina in 2005 and Sandy back in October.  Just a reference point for keeping tomorrow’s jobs numbers in context.  Recall that Moody’s estimates that Sandy lowered payrolls by 86,000 jobs in November, so keep that number handy when we get the numbers tomorrow at 8:30.

Just remember that you are dealing with people who did not notice that every 10 years there was a spike in Federal Government employment due to the census. It will be interesting to see what made up reason they come up with to blame this on the President.
