Networks Call Ohio, and Victory, For Obama!

Networks call Ohio for the President and that puts him over the top.  It looks like it’s over.

Dems retain Senate and R’s retain House.

So, a great outcome for the President and the nation after months and months and months of primaries, campaigning, debating…

At one level, you could ask yourself, “what the hell was that all about!?”–to have spent all that money and time to end up with the status quo.

But I’m elated and will be so for a while.  In part because it’s over and the President won and in part because the nation didn’t buy Gov Romney’s lack of commitment to a plan that made sense to them.

We now have a lot of work to do.  Let’s get to it…together.  Because at the end of this day, just like yesterday and tomorrow, we’re all in this together.

A Romney win would have been a tragedy, not that he is a conservative, but because of how he ran. Once facts don’t matter, we are all in very deep trouble. We need constructive ideas from everyone to succeed, but until the GOP is willing to work from the same set of facts as everyone else that cannot happen.

Thank you. It’s an excellent outcome.

I think President Obama should offer the Treasury job to Gov Romney (I understand that Tim Geithner wants to move on). Mr Romney won’t be re-nominated by the GOP in 2016 so this appointment won’t harm the prospect of any potential 2016 Democratic nominee. At the very least, President Obama should ask Mr Romney for a list of possible Treasury appointees and then appoint one of them on merit. Regards.
