As far as I can tell, sugar-free ice cream kinda sucks. Turkey bacon is great.

I mean, maybe I lack vision, but I’ve got no desire to combine ice-cream and bacon.

I have to admit I had bacon brittle on ice cream for dessert at an upscale restaurant once and it was quite interesting. I really like sea salt on my dark chocolate and this is similar as it adds a bit of savory to the sweet.

That said, I can’t see trying this (not that I even go to BK).

First, bacon is delicious (and not just for breakfast and burgers). Second, the use of bacon in savory/sweet combinations has been on the rise. It’s not really a shock that fast food would pick it up on a trial basis (though the entire strip included is a bit much).

This past weekend I served homemade ice cream at an enormous annual ice-cream social/charity benefit here in Nashville; I was too busy to do much sampling of other people’s offerings, but the big buzz was bacon-flavored ice cream. It seems to be a trend.
