News you might have missed today:

Donald J. Trump, at a press conference: “Never mind. America’s already pretty damn great.”

Bernie Sanders, later at that same presser: “Never mind. I’ve just got a job at Goldman Sachs.”

National Restaurant Assoc: “Why just $15? We can do better than that!”

Janet Yellen tweeted out: “Guess what? I couldn’t care less about inflation!”

Dean Baker, on his “Beat the Press” blog: “I’m really impressed by the media’s take on recent economic issues!”

Jared Bernstein, right here at OTE!: “I don’t know what I was thinking. We’ve been at full employment for years now!”

I’m sure I’ll “hear” more of these as April 1 presses on…

I’m horrible at April Fools! Anyone can fool me, and I can’t play the game! I screwed this one up too. Let me restate this:

Jong-un: “We are in insignificant nation ruled by a despot that hates it own people!”

I think this is more consistent with the idea. We all have limits! How dumb to not be able to create an April Fools joke? Some of us are too serious lately.
