Well, back to insourcing the Friday musical interlude, and I’m back to my ancient ways. Here’s a pop song from the back in the day that kept running through my head this week, maybe because it was a week in which facts just didn’t seem to matter (plus, it rained a ton!)…makes you wanna kinda Drift Away.
Day after day I’m so confused
Yet I look for the light through the pouring rain…
(I’ve got a real, bona-fide young person lined up for next week’s pick! And he’s pretty hip, too, I think.)
Them you can Slip Away with Clarence Carter (wish I had a link).
I’m hoping you’ll join Mike Konczal in providing constructive input for the #OccupyWallStreet protests (I mean this is why we pay you the big bucks, right? 🙂
(Konczal link is provided in the post):

And BTW – isn’t this what you guys dream about? If there were no political constraints, what could be done to fix the economy?
Hi Jared — the great guitar part on “Drift Away” was played by Reggie Young, who is a Memphis/Nashville session musician. Here’s a You Tube video of him playing the song with Waylon Jennings:

Great version!
