Friday Musical Interlude, Outsourced

My main man CW offered the following Buddy Guy/John Mayer feature, Feels Like Rain.  Which, after listening to the first few bars of Buddy’s killer solo, I must say I wholeheartedly endorse.–JB

When two blues greats get together and feed off of each other, it’s nothing short of spectacular. In this case, the artists and styles bridge generations. Buddy Guy is credited as a pioneer of the Chicago style of blues, and has been an influence to many blues artists for decades. John Mayer revived blues in the 2000s by blending the familiar styles of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton and other musicians, and bringing it to the main stage.

This duo teamed up back in 2005 on PBS’s SoundStage and covered this John Hiatt hit, Feels Like Rain. Great stuff.

    That’s a John Hiatt song, isn’t it?

CW says: Ah, true. John Hiatt put it out on his 1988 album Slow Turning. Buddy Guy used it as the title track for his album in 1993.
