Someone close to me pointed out that I’m kind of old, and that while my musical selections are fine, well…I’m just kind of old. It is true that my tastes run from around 1700-1975.
She suggested that on occasion I outsource the Friday interlude, maybe to someone who wasn’t so…old. While the outsourcing thing can be problematic at 9.1% unemployment, I still like that idea, so I asked my home girl MB to kick it.
As the first guest blogger on OTE, I have to say that I know Jared tends to lean toward jazz, blues, folk, and other “old school” interludes — and I love them just like any of you — but he invited me here to shake things up just a bit. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to disappoint him. You see, I might be younger, but I’m old school at heart. Old school.
Given all of our hard work in trying to create jobs and grow the economy, I believe sometimes you just have to renew your spirit if only for a minute (or 3 minutes and 42 seconds, to be exact). I suspect you would be hard-pressed to find anyone who could resist the urge to dance when they hear Earth, Wind, and Fire roll up with “September“.
Those horns are workin’ it! I can’t remember the first time I heard it, but it never fails to bring a huge smile to my face. In these fiscally gloomy days, don’t we need that kind of energy right now? Let’s all keep trying to do what’s best for our country. And chase “the clouds away”. Hopefully those” golden dreams” aren’t far off.
Ba de ya,
PS: In case some of you wonder what it’s like to work with Jared… It rocks!
PPS: September was when I met my hubby. (Shout out!)
