Hey, What’d I Miss? OTE Summary 5/1 — 5/5

May 5th, 2014 at 12:25 pm
  • On April’s employment numbers:  previewing the data on Jobs Day Eve, highlighting my first impressions of a confusing month of labor market data and explaining why I doubt April’s jobs data will be any sort of game changer for the Fed.
  • Illustrating how high frequency trading comes to be.
  • Analyzing the impact of the labor force when the US job market gets back to full employment.
  • Looking at wages, slack, labor force participation, and the Fed.

Music:  enjoying a slightly more staid version of the “Talk Dirty” by Kevin Spacey and the Ragtime Gals in this week’s musical interlude.

Not afraid of Republican control without Democrats able to filibuster because Republicans are always able to pick off a few blue dog Democrats anyway. Not that they need them (hence 80% of Bush tax cuts, RomneyCare, etc)
