Like any good parent, I equally adore all of the papers written for our most recent full employment event. In this post over at PostEverything, I (with help from Ben Spielberg) summarize the findings from Valerie Wilson’s excellent paper on the disproportionate benefits of tight labor markets to African-American workers.
The stuff about unemployment ratios is worth reviewing, as she/we do, but has been known for as long as we’ve had data on black and white unemployment. But her wage results are especially important–note the findings in the figure that sits atop the post re the differential impact of unemployment on black compared to white real median wages.
